SUMMARY

Our organization is committed to inclusivity and equality worldwide. And Pride Month is an important time for us to reaffirm our values.

All of us at the Private Bank are delighted to be celebrating Pride Month throughout June 2021. The history, accomplishments and promise of the entire LGBTQ+ community globally are a source of great inspiration to us.

Advocating for freedom and equality around the world is part of Citi’s heritage. We believe that everyone has the fundamental right to be themselves and feel comfortable doing so. Our LGBTQ+ colleagues come from every walk of life, race, age, religion, and background, and live in every corner of the world. We work constantly to foster an inclusive culture for them, as well as for our clients and communities.

A key element of our commitment is supporting legislation and other efforts globally that enhance equality. Earlier this year, Citi reaffirmed our support of the US Equality Act, which would guarantee non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ Americans. We also spoke out against an increase in harmful US state legislation that would result in differential treatment or the exclusion of LGBTQ+ people. In the UK, we proudly co-signed a letter to the prime minister that advocated for transgender equality.

For our clients and colleagues, we continue to show our commitment to self-expression. Last autumn, for example, Citi launched Chosen Name, which allows transgender and non-binary clients to update their chosen first name on eligible Citi-branded credit cards in the US.

As we join the LGBTQ+ community around the world to reflect on the progress towards equal rights,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and empowering Pride Month. By working together, we can create an inclusive society for all.
